Fuck yeah, ROBERT BATHURST!

This is exactly what you think it is: a Tumblr dedicated to the urbane British actor seen in the likes of Cold Feet, Downton Abbey, Joking Apart, My Dad's the Prime Minister, Wind in the Willows, Red Dwarf and Hornblower.

If you like what you see, join us on the forum: http://robertbathurst.proboards.com
In the meantime, enjoy the show. Requests and questions VERY welcome! Also, Joking Apart is very available on DVD - try Replay DVD or Amazon UK.

DISCLAIMER: All gifs (apart from reblogs) made by me. All rare magazine scans are tagged - PLEASE CREDIT if you post elsewhere! Other than that I don't own anything, and this is very much an unofficial fansite. But I have chilled out with Robert a few times and can vouch that he's AWESOME. TV NEWSOSITY!

Hurrah, for Robert will be starring in a new comedy pilot. And reuniting with Hermione Norris (Cold Feet, Get Well Soon, Kingdom) and Matthew Horne (Roman’s Empire) while he’s at it.To quote:

Hermione Norris and Mathew Horne have joined the cast of Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death.

They join Ashley Jensen in Sky1’s upcoming crime drama, which will air at Christmas.

Norris will star as long-suffering housewife Jo Cummings, while Horne will play Agatha’s former assistant Roy.

Meanwhile, Robert Bathurst will play Andy Cummings, Katy Wix will star as Gemma, and Jamie Glover has joined the cast as James, a love interest for Agatha.

Jason Barnett and Matt McCooey will appear as Di Wilkes and DC Bill Wong.

The drama is described as “contemporary and quirky”, and is based on the Mc Beaton novel series.

It follows Agatha, a PR whizz who gives up her life in London to move to the seemingly tranquil village of Carsley, but soon finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery.

Don’t forget, Robert makes a return to the big screen tomorrow in Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie! He plays Maydo-Archer, a barrister rather unfortunately afflicted with Tourettes…

The Mirror has a vid featuring RB talking about his role, plus Brendan O’Carroll sums up our chap rather perfectly:

crazymaryt said: Do you know of anywhere Goodbye Mr Steadman might be? Does it have a DVD release?

Ah, Goodbye Mr Steadman. In which a bespectacled and anorak-ed Robert gets his leading man moment - albeit an anally retentive leading man in need of a good snog from Caroline Quentin.

The shockingly bad news: It never had a DVD release. Or even a TV repeat, for that matter. And a lot of people who recorded it at the time missed some of it as ITV messed up the schedule. OUTRAGE.

The not anywhere as bad news but you see your hopes? Keep them low just yet don’t get excited right now just place that excitement safely in your pocket for later: I own it. And the only reason I do is because I managed to get hold of a press copy on VHS many years ago. Yup, video, how quaint.

(fun factoid: The original title was merely  ‘DEAD’.)

In my recent moves I’ve misplaced the video, but the second I find it I will look into getting it online, ‘cos you guys will not be disappointed. I’m just really sorry I can’t share it this instant, hence the warning! For what it’s worth I have a ton of screencaps and maybe even the odd clip back from when I had access to the technology, so I can post some of that in the meantime.
